Please, somebody can tell me, where is the complete model. Since I do not see the pieces that hold and push the filament, where the screw goes to adjust. Thank you very much.

Thanks ;) Nice to hear that!

It's really really silent - used the newest version with the fan dumpers and can't hear anything from the feeder anymore. Thanks a lot for your effort and this design! Amazing!

Can you please show me (picture) how the fan dampeners are attached?

v4 is out, you only need 4 "fan silencers" ;)

I'm working on a different design, so maybe you want to wait a bit before you print the damped version ;)
It is way cheaper and easier to mount on the one hand and on the other also more silent!

Yes!! :) I've done something similar to my PC cooling pump using silent blocks! Are you using silent blocks also?

i updated the design and uploaded a new model with dampers (15x15mm, M4 and three screws PH2 M4x10mm), works pretty good so far ;)

In fact mine is a little bit larger and it needs to be filed.

Regarding your new E motor, i didn't know the issue of the revolution steps in relation to first layer and accuracy as well.
I think, imho, that the first layer is more compicated because you need an exactly quantity of plastic extruded that with more revolution steps could be achieved.
My motor has 1.8 degrees per revolution, so a total of 200. I'll buy 400 revolution motors as you suggested.
I'll keep you informed about noise.

Thanks!

hey vaques!

I think your design is also very good (thanks ;D), it just didn't fit to my ultimaker (don't know why).

the thing is: I have bought a 400 steps per revolution stepper and you probably have the original one? i recommend to buy this one: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10846
I read a conversation where the developers of the ultimaker said they use a 400steps/rev. motor at the direct driven UM2 feeder because they had problems with high quality prints at first (the surface was too rough) . I also faced that problem, didn't you?

btw: at the moment I redesgin it since I still have too much noise (it is relatively silent in fac t but I installed the new SSS drivers and now the feeder is the most noisy part^^) . the new design will include some space for rubber dampers (https://www.google.de/search?q=rubber+dampers)
