I made this and found I had a rod of acrylic that fits nicely inside each light socket. I cut little disks about 2mm thick on a proxxon circular saw and wet sanded the ends with 400 grit by hand putting the paper on a sheet of metal to ensure a reasonably flat surface. I than "flash flamed" with a MAP torch to turn the sanded ends into glass clear little lenses. I found that you have to be quick with the torch else you end up with bubbles in the acrylic.
