It goes together pretty easily. The final board was built on a perfboard and I used KiCad mostly just as a planning tool so the traces will probably need to be cleaned up if you're going to send it to oshpark or a similar service. I used hot glue to assemble everything because my printer's tolerance isn't great. I used translucent red and plain white filaments from Ultimachine.
