I have printed this (great design by the way) but the hole for the nozzle doesnt seem to fit meaning the nozzle is pushing against it. Ive looked at the ojther versions and the nozzle hole seems to be in the same place for all of them? Any advice?

Anyone got any print settings for this?
Is support required if printing with stock UM2?

For those who said it the tool doesn't fit for the Olsson, here's a tip: Do not fully tighten the four screws for the shroud yet, make sure your nozzle is screwed in the block and insert the tool to position the shroud. Keep the tool in and then only fully tighten the shroud.

@Labern Thanks! Like your design. Have been following your build and also making mine a UM2Go+ ;)

Remove the 2 print head thumb screws on the right hand side from the print
head. Insert the spacers onto the thumb screws and put it back into the
print head.
As the screws stick out the bottom of the bottom alloy plate, they hit the
fan shroud. These raise the screws so the fan shroud doesnt hit them.

Can someone explain to me where the spacers go to?

"Um2 Hot End Enclosed Olsson Dual Fan Shroud" is not for Olsson. It doesn't fit.

Can you poste the stp file for Dual Fan Shroud V3.

Hello i have test the V3 Olsson Dual fan, but no more access to change the hot end....the hole is too small for the olsson tool...so.

I installed the enclosed Olsson Version and insulated the inside against the heat with Aluminium Tape but since im using this shroud i always getting heater error on my UM2. If i switch back to the original shroud the issue is gone. Could it be possible that the shroud is enclosed?

I've just printed this in black and run a test ultimaker bot using green standard PLA and the overhangs are so much better using this fan shroud. No discernible difference between the left and right ears! Brilliant!

I use kapton tape on the shroud, even multiple layers. Do you also put kapton tape on the heaterblock itself?

@KLucky_13 did you use anything to insulate it from the heat like Kapton tape?
I print with XT some times with no trouble. I wrapped my heater block and put some on the shroud.

@KLucky_13, it prints just fine at 260 at my UM2
KLucky_13

@Meduza: in that case you need to print higher than 260 no? I think the UM2 is limited to 260 °C..
erikcederb

@KLucky_13: i would suggest printing it in Taulman BluPrint, with its higher tg it has been working great for me

I printed it, works great but now after a month of use it is completely warped and I have to print a new one :-/ So I'm going back to the original design since I'm not willing to reprint it every month.
I printed in XT-Copolymer and I mainly print on 245 °C (XT)

Olsson dual fan shroud V3 or Olsson dual fan shroud I2k. The I2K is meant
to be used with my spring replacement but can use it with spring as well.

The exit holes of the zetoff are far to small. The fans can't compress air much and having the holes that small slows them down.
With the original metal fan shroud put the fan speed to 100% under expert settings, then hold your finger over half of the exit. You will hear the change in fan speed.

I thought to change the system of inserting ZETOFF fans horizontally as you did? What do you think of my idea?

Hi Labern, Now I'm using the shroud of ZETOFF mounting your good improvements do you think?

Um2 Hot End Labern Dual Fan Shroud V3 is for the standard nozzle which you shouldnt need to adjust the height of the hotend. Or do you want one without slotted mounting holes?

Hi Labern, can have the fan shroud that can be mounted without changing the hot end, without changing the height of the hot-end?

@Emmynona You may need to put a slight bend your limit switch so it doesn't hit the side.

Hi Labern, could you possbily share the CAD source files, i would like to make one for dual olsson blocks? (i am thinking just to cut it in half and mirroring the left part of the shroud)

<p>This part works great but it is slightly larger than the original fan shroud because the fans are horizontal. The problem is that the head can't go back to the initial position at the end of the print. It just hits the wall and can't move further because the fan shroud is too large. Does anyone knows how to change the initial position of the head?</p>

<p>Print with transparent ABS - it makes it a lot easier to see what the extruder is doing with more light under the shroud.</p>
