hi Federico. No, the structures inside the the duct is not to be removed. They are there to divert the air around the mounting screw to flow better.

Just a quick question: Is the trapeziod inside the duct a support structure? should it be removed? Thanks

hi IronGland. The original fan that came with my Ultimaker kit is 12V. The fan brand and model is clearly shown in the second photo. I have no other information other than the following...
Mounting hole distance is about 57.7mm; width is about 55mm (it is not exactly circular, so is difficult to give any other dimensions here); the outlet external: 20mm x 15mm (15mm is thickness of fan). Hope these information helps.
If you have access to CAD program, you can import the STL file to make some measurements.
Performance: as indicated on the information tab; so far, it hasn't suffered any melt down like other designs I have tried even though it is printed in PLA; the mounting nuts do get shaken loose though; it is difficult to use locknut on one of the mount, so I may try non-permanent thread lock instead.

Hi, can you tell us a little more about the fan? I thought the ultimaker fan was 24v, and I have been able to find many 12v blower fans, but not too many 24. For a while I was thinking of doing something similar but with two 12v fans in series.
What are the dimensions on your fan/ who is the manufacturer?
Either way I would love to hear more about your design and how it's working!
