I wanted to mount the camera in the corner of the printer, but after some trail and error I had to conclude there was no room. I still included the design files, for if someone finds a way. Finally hooking the mount around the front panel, around the top seemed best. I improved upon the following existing ball joint design: https://www.youmagine.com/designs/parametric-ball-jointI found that the camera needed to be enclosed, for proper image quality. Without a case it seemed like you saw the inside of the lens mount. So made a camera case holder that encloses the camera module (UM_camera_case). The design is created parametrically using OpenSCAD. Update: I added some space around the joint to keep it flexible. Update2: I tweaked the retraction settings to make the support break off more easily.

What kind of camera is this for?

Instead of glue, perhaps museum wax would work. It's a sticky wax that works almost like a glue, but it never hardens, so you'd still be able to reposition with enough force.

I'm not sure yet, have not moved it very much. I'm hoping I made it 'springy' enough so it compensates for that for a while. If that doesn't work I would try to pick a good position and put some glue on the connection. Preferably a kind of glue that can be removed easily, like that children glue. Or maybe gluegun glue.

Hi Peter, cool stuff. I have created something similar witha different ball joint system. Do you feel that it wears out after some time (so it gets loose after a while)? Mine was pretty tight at the begining but after a while of rubbing and grinding it get's smooth and does not grip anymore...
