I printed the "metal" part in Ultimaker Metallic Silver PLA, and the handle in colorFabb woodFill.
The handle was sanded, though I deliberately left traces of the layer lines to simulate wood grain. I then gave it three coats of Minwax stain and polyurethane, then lightly sanded it down again to take most of the shine off. (The camera's flash made it look a lot shinier than it is in real life.)
The "metal" bits were sanded smooth, then lightly distressed near the tip to simulate wear and tear from usage, then I primed the whole thing except the surface that would be affixed to the handle.
I then airbrushed on a couple of coats of Alclad II Steel, then dry-brushed some silver paint onto the shank to simulate wear.
Next, I airbrushed the collar with Alclad II Dark Aluminium, but gave it deliberately uneven coverage to make it look somewhat aged. Then I used a toothbrush to spatter three slightly different shades of brown over it to simulate rust.
Finally, I used clear epoxy to affix both parts together.
