Description

When I first stumbled upon the various Handheld Raspberry Pi Retro Gaming Consoles, I knew I needed to build one. I didn't want to simply copy someone else's design though, I wanted the challenge of designing and building my own custom game console. There are great examples out there and I wanted to combine all of their strengths into one design. The initial cost of these can be $200+, so I also wanted to make it affordable while not skimping on the functionality. The main goal was to minimize hardware and cost and maximize the features. I was able to build this RetroPie handheld gaming console for $100. Check out my site at http://cookingcircuits.com/home/thegamepi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiEPAt7BP60

if you still have a Wii, you could just soft-mod (or hack) it, and install the Homebrew Channel, which allows you to put emulators and roms for consoles on your Wii. I'm not sure how many different emulators are supported, but so far I've been enjoying NES, SNES, SMS, Genesis, and GB/GBC/GBA the kizi games, on my Wii!
