Teardrop Ornament

I created this ornament in 2015.  My son, Henry, was starting to crawl and run around, and I knew we wouldn't want our glass ornaments on the tree.  I designed a series of ornaments, and they underwent rounds of brutal user acceptance testing.  Finally, my wife said--print more of that teardrop one!I designed a printable cap and loop to fit the top of the ornament, and have included them as well.  I have sized the top hole big enough to fit most LED string lights, and the ornament looks especially nice when you put an LED in it.  (You can see the effect in some of the photos.)In Cura, if you go into Expert mode, and set Black Magic, Spiralize the Outer Contour, you get a beautiful vase-style object, with a solid bottom, and a single layer perimeter.  What if you *don't* want the solid bottom?  I found that I was able to create a bottom lip, of at least a certain thickness, and Cura would make a chunky overlappy bottom lip.  At first, I was sad about the roughness of this area, but I realized that it was quite strong, and the cap would completely cover it up.I printed mine on a Printrbot Plus, with PLA.  I used Cura, and Spiralize the Outer Contour for the ornaments, and turned that off for the cap and loop.  Make sure to print in a reasonable orientation!  (The ornament prints upside down.)I printed the caps and loops in silver, and the ornaments in a variety of colors.  Gold turned out well, as well as natural PLA, but red turned out well too.  They turned out nice enough that these ornaments are the only "traditional-style" ornaments on our tree this year!
