I was looking for a small box with lid but didn't found what I was seaching for. So I decided to create one by myself... and here it is.The lid of the box can be opened and closed due to the printed-in-place hinges with a gap of 0,5mm. The wall thickniss is 1,2mm and I printed it with 0,1mm layer height which takes about takes about 4 hours. The overall size is 80 x 40 x 35mm. If someone is interested in modifying this design, please let me know and I can provide some Inventor-Files. I have updated the design and added a second box which is slightly bigger. It now is 120x60x50mm in size, but it still has a wall thickness of 1.2mm. I have not made any test prints, so it would be great if someone give me feedback if the print works well.
At the very first glance, it looks like my kid's pencil case. After much thought, it can actually be used for so many other purposes. If it is actually waterproof and heat-resistant, it looks like a workable lunch box too.

Hi Nerucan, No, you don't need support material! That's what makes this lovely box so nice!

Thank you! Although halfway there was a little blockage in the nozzle, the hinges work! May be the gaps can even be more narrow, when printing at .06?
In Blender I can import the STL and change the dimensions of the box easily. But adapting the hinges is a different thing...
(I am just a newby, this helps me to learn a lot!)

<p>Thanks for putting a larger box up; it has printed just as well as the small box. I've uploaded a photo for comparison of the two sizes. They are well designed and I look forward to seeing more work from this designer!</p>

Hey, I have uploaded a second version of the box which is bigger than the first one. Hope it is as big as you expected it to be. If you print it, I would be happy to see a picture of the finished box...

Excellent little box. Printed really well with no fiddling afterwards - the hinge works well straight off the plate. I would like to try making a larger box but only have a basic skill with Sketch - up.
