Replacement handle for a petrol lawnmower or any engine with a pull cord to start.
WARNING: Pull starting engines can be dangerous. There is a risk that the handle can be pulled out of your hand so fast that it breaks bones. Always read the instructions. Do not use this replacement unless you are confident that you know how to use the equipment you are attaching it to. You use this entirely at your own risk.
Updated: May 2016, August 2016, April 2017 and June 2017. The earlier versions were not strong enough so I have progressively thickened up a couple of areas and made the overall design a bit larger. The latest design has survived several months and not yet broken.
Technical
Printer settings:
Ultimaker 2+
Filament = 14m
Layer thickness = 0.15mm with 0.4mm nozzle
In fill = 100% solid (for strength but there are modelled in hollow sections where acceptable)
Speed = 40mm/s
Support = everywhere (there is also an additional support modelled in, that supports the generated supports!)
Adhesion = Raft
I have used the following filament types.
ColorFabb PLA/PHA at 215C/60C
Rigid.Ink PLA Plus at 225C/60C
Real Filament PETG at 240C/80C
The PETG is the strongest but the latest version has survived in the PLA derivatives.

Parts of the model have been derived from others. With kind thanks to the authors of the following:

I have yet again updated the design to be a bit stronger.

Glad you like it. I have just this second uploaded another strengthened version. Slightly larger and bulked out in places where I think it needs it. I would recommend trying version 048 if you have not already printed the older version.
