Do you have an example of such a mechanism? Not sure how it would work.

It would be interesting to have a float valve to ensure a certain amount of water has flowed through before it is diverted to the tank. This way it ensures the cleanest possible water will enter the tank avoiding possible fecal contaminants etc. Might be good for even a potable water source in a dire situation. Example 10 Liters must flow through before the valve is able to open to the tank. A bit more complexity but would be an interesting upgrade.
