Thats pretty cool. How do you assemble? Do you simply change filament mid print? I was about to make some design of possible printed piece of "fabric". Very inspiring. I'll share too :)

But isn't that ABS with extra additions? I know that some ABS has glasfiber mixed with it to make it stronger.

Protective gear, with hard shells, designed for skateboarding and BMX driving is usually made of ABS.
