Would there need to be any modifications needed for this to work with the PrintrBot Simple Maker's Edition(1405)? Is there a spacing difference between the 2 rods on the Z axis on the PrintrBot Simple Metal and the PrintrBot Simple Maker's Edition(1405)?

How does putting the filament on top of the rods actually affect mechanical stability? Will it go up (more mass) or down (significant weight to resonate)?

Do you think this will work for a Printrbot Jr. v2? One of the annoyances I have is constantly changing out the spool holder width pieces for different spools of filament. Thanks!

<p>When printing this piece it starts to bend after a few layers and it gets partly loose from the bluetape (on a Printrbot Simple Metal with PLA) or it pulls the tape from the platform. <br></p><p>In the end I let the print finish and about 5mm from the platform there are now a few layers looking bad because the nozzle hit the plastic that was curled up a bit but this evens out after a few layers and then it went OK again.</p><p>Any tips on how to avoid this?</p>

Printed this yesterday and it came out very well. It fits very snugly on the rails, so I will probably do a little filing so it's not so tight. As of right now i have to tap it on with a rubber mallet. I printed at 40% infill and it seems strong enough for the job. You might be able to get away with less infill, but it's probably worth the little extra time and plastic to stick with more.
Also, as the previous poster stated, I would reduce the skirt to 3mm with 2 passes. That is my usual default anyway.

Beware that this print is slightly too large for the Printrbot Simple if you use a 6mm skirt around the object (142 + 6 + 6 = 154). My Slic3r defaulted to 6mm based on the Printrbot sites' instructions. I bumped the skirt down to 3mm and now it fits.
