3D printable brushless gopro hero3 gimbal for TBS Discovery quadcopter frame.Presentation video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnAEkdHy9K0Here is a video of it flying:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHgYfMGjTZAAnd here is a video of my quadcopter setup and how to mount the parts:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6aL8s58-DEOf course if you get the TBS Discovery Pro from Team Black Sheep then you don't need this. It already have a brushless gimbal on it: http://team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:discoproUpdate: The gimbal also works with the original gopro hd heroAnd most likely also the hero 2. http://youtu.be/g81f_jeNMjkI also added a modified version in file hero1mod.zip that is supposed to be optimized for hero1, but i have not tested myself and i will not..Update:TBS Core is not compatible with this gimbal. It is in the way for it.I am thinking of a solution to the problem. Instructions:Print all the parts. The roll motor mount (pl-roll-mm.stl) needs to be printed with support. Some prints are a bit tricky, you might need to after drill some holes and clean up a bit with a knife..Build it using the parts from the goodluckbuy gimbal (see bill of materials). The gimbals IMU is glued to the under side of the little plate that extrudes on the down side of the gopro mount. You need to cut away parts of the TBS Discovery frame. (yes you will need to mutilate your frame to use this gimbal, be careful not tocut or drill into any electrical traces in the plates). See included picture. cutplates.jpeg for where to cut. The fpv camera is glued or taped to the mount, you might need to file the hole a bit to make it fit.Do not force the parts together, then the parts might break, drill the holes a bit or file on the parts instead if they don't fit smoothly..Fly and enjoy stabilized video :-)ps. I can be slow on answering mail, comments etc. If i have not answered within a week i will probably never do so you need to send again ! Sorry about that i have a lot of things to do and have hard time keeping up on my mail sometimes.

Technical

- First of all you need a Team Blacksheep Discovery quadcopter frame, you can get the plates from here: http://team-blacksheep.com/products/product:98 - Buy a brushless gimbal from goodluckbuy to convert, then you get everything you need, 2x motors, controller, dampeners, wires, screws etc.. (getting all the parts separately is more expensive and you need to find the right screws and good flexible wires etc) http://www.goodluckbuy.com/dji-phantom-brushless-gimbal-camera-mount-w-motor-and-controller-for-gopro3-fpv-aerial-photography.html - You need 2 screws and nuts to mount the new fpv camera mount - You need a textile rubber band to hold the gopro camera - If you want video out from the gopro you need a tiny 90degree video out cable - The fpv camera mount is designed for the 600tvl sony cam with the "frame" removed: http://www.securitycamera2000.com/products/600TVL-SONY-SUPER-HAD-CCD-D%252dWDR-Color-Board-Camera-with-OSD-Menu-DNR.html

Hi Peter, could you please tell me if the problem about TBS Core is solved and you have a new design front gimbal for TBS Discovery? Maybe you just need a little foward to the fixation sistem of your gimbal...and we can make only a small cut on down frame...I'm anxious you do that! Regards. Robert

Hi Peter, thanks for the feedback. We don't want to repeat webdesign mistakes that MakerbotThingiverse makes, so all feedback about that is very welcome. We're going to create a better rating mechanism that will allow you to see more of the really good content. Also, we're logging the source of designs (e.g. per design tool) and scans or variations of a single design should be displayed as groups to prevent clutter. We will also be extra careful to introduce a "problematic" version of auto-load upon scroll. So thanks for this feedback, it's what helps us decide on priorities and fill in our blind spots of what we should do.

Thanks ! I like this site, have been looking on it for a while now. Just haven't done anything worth sharing on it before. The thingiverse site have started to suck, their stupid auto load page when scrolling down can crash any browser, and more then half of the parts on it is bad scans.. he he
