Description

This i were it started, here iis my first go at creating a printable rc car which later resulted in the OpenRC Truggy car.I learned alot from this car and so it is a little bit different. It is has belt drive and is built on a aluminum plate so it is not as "printable" as it´s successor, the Truggy (https://www.youmagine.com/designs/openr-c-1-10-4wd-truggy-concept-r-c-car).If you like build one of your own, the belts are from an Xray car (don´t remember the model) and bought at Amainhobbies.com, driveshafts are from Conrad.com.If somebody would like to build one let me know and i will post some more info! Here is a short testdrive video: http://youtu.be/HpFrq0iMeAEAs always questions and answers to be found here:https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/112745535856143176146Enjoy!/Daniel Norée

Hi, thank you!

I made this before the Truggy and the reason for the belt was just that it seamed easier to work with. I hade problems with small stones getting stuck between the parts due to the open design so that´s my abandoned the belt design when i did the Truggy. However i will go back to belt on the next car! =)

It's a thing of beauty. I like that you are still proving people wrong about the "you can't print an R/C car" Excellent work.

Was the choice of belt vs geared drive based on ease of assembly? The Alu-plate is obviously for more durability but did you find that the geared drive wasn't reliable?
