Brilliant mod. Once installed, the mount is super rigid and everything sits perfectly. The only fault I found was that the back motor was a super big pain to install. In the future, I would try to install the back motor before slipping the bracket onto the UM.

Nice! Yeah, I made the decision to place the mount where I did somewhat arbitrarily - the corner of the desk I keep the Ultimaker on has easier access to the right side of the machine, so that's where I put the motors....

I mirror the design in Cura so I can mount it on the left back side. Now I don't have to replace the extruder. Also my powersupply is sticking out on that side

Now it's clear to me - my Ultimaker must be older than yours because there are no holes for a second extruder on it :)

I just hook it to the edge of the wooden frame using only the top two mounts. The lower two hooks sit in the holes of the second extruder holes

Nick, How did you fix the extruder to the new position - did you cut two new squares for its lower legs?

Thanks! I do think this is a worthwhile upgrade. (I just finished setting this up on a second machine yesterday, and that machine is now producing some of the best prints I have ever seen from an Ultimaker.)
I just uploaded new files which will make the installation process easier and improve the result. It is still tedious, but not undoable.
12mm longer is probably a decent amount of extension for the rods. Never measured mine exactly.

Great design! Very neat and pleasant! Can you describe your experience? How much did you lengthen your rods? About 12 mm I think? Will you recommend this modification to your friend? ))) Thanks!
