I have put together a very easy to use Lithophane generator for my daughter. It's also available for anyone else who'd like to use it :)I thought I'd use what I'm told is the "Most painted building in America" known as "Motif Number 1" for my first lithophane! This image is from a photo I took a few years ago in Rockport, MA.For anyone interested,Details on Motif#1 here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockport,_MassachusettsDetails of Lithophane Generator here http://3dp.rocks/lithophane/

Great, I'd love to see a photo of the Form1 print. I used Faberdashery Crystal Clear in this print, I expect any clear filament will work quite well. The original uncoloured or "Natural" filament would be best in PLA or ABS all the coloured one's have a pigment or dye that will block light to some degree, I have a white filament here that does not pass any light! You should also use a high fill or many perimeters.

Thank you! From my first look at the STL, the lithopane from a family photo looks like it should come out nicely. I'm trying the print on a Form 1+ right now. Any tips on what color filaments to try when printing on my FDM (Printrbot Jr. v2) at home later?

I added an un-cropped photo (showing the dirty window ;) if you'd like a high res one, it's available here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/68504030/Img_6264.jpg

hi +ingegno yes, this is a photo of the lithophane in the "Large" stl file, it was printed standing on its edge, it is 199 x 150 x 10 mm with a thinnest layer of 0.4 mm(nozzle diameter)

Is the black/white a pic of the actual printed version? I was in the impression a lithopane cannot have much more than 0.3mm resolution on 3D printer as the nozzle has around that size, but this pic seems more detailed.
