This slides on to the fitting where a battery would normally be clipped in to keep out grub and dust while the tool is in storage. My tools have at least 3 different variations to the mounting for the same 18V batteries. This cover fits all of those. Easily pushes on and holds by friction. I've included holes to add string for hanging loops for storing when not in use.
