Description

This is a rotating mounting platform for my Ultimaker2,Enables all round access to the printer with out having to pick it up or reach over the top etc. makes filament changes a doddle. The bottom board is longer than the top board so that if its pushed back against the wall it still has enough clearance to rotate. The hole in the center for the cables helps prevent twisting the cables as you rotate the printer to access the other sides.

The top platform is 400mm x 400mm The base board is 500mm x 500mm Cut from a single board 900x400 x 18mm thick. Which works fine for the dimensions of both the UM2 and Wanhao Dublicator i3 Plus. The lazy Susan has rubber feet underneath to allow for the cables, protect the table and dampen vibrations. But I will try some sorbothane to see if there is a difference.

Using sorbothane vibration dampers underneath would do well to reduce noise. What are the dimensions of the platform pieces?

<p>Hi reibuehl, the only problem with that may be the vibrations from the axis movement that translate into the trolley</p>

<p>What a cool idea! I will try to make it for my printer with an IKEA BEKVÄM kitchen trolley (<a href="http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/30240348/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.ikeahackers.net/2013/05/portable-workbench.html</a>) as basis. </p>
