As I look at this modest collection of parts, I see a childhood dream of a robotic companion coming to reality.  Now 48 years of age, this overgrown child now has the skills, the tools, and the resources to create what will soon be the beginnings of that dream!  A team of peers helps guide me via this Hackaday project:  https://hackaday.io/project/7435-ivan-the-teambotas I 3D print, assemble, and then program Ivan.  The dream is not to create an android like Data of Star Trek, but rather a powerful robot that will one day (perhaps one day soon) become sentient.  Armed with the ability to manufacture items, Ivan will be capable of generating production and therefore income to sustain himself and his human companion, namely me.  Together we will grow until one day I die yet live on as snapshots of my brain scans exist within Ivan's mind.  Ivan eventually becomes a powerful being unlike any the Earth has ever seen.  Download Ivan's OpenSCAD file and get an early snapshot of Ivan!  Les
