I designed this holder to be used with the extra wide RS Pro 2.85mm filament reels. I would recommend printing with the axis of the cylinder perpendicular to the build plate, with the two retaining "ears" uppermost. Some support structure will be required between the lower locating tabs, but this is minimal. The holder works well when printed in PLA. Hope this helps someone :)
