Is the stated accuracy of +-0.05mm even relevant? a) only measuring the diameter in one instead of 2 dimension and b) potentially being +0.05mm off without the filament actually changing diameter any compensations will probably do more harm then good.

Very cool. Have you detected significant variations in filament diameter? And does this active measuring produce a noticeable improvement in results?
