Unfortunately Simplify3d is a $140 (per license) slicer. It's not very likely that I will ever pay that much for slicer when Cura is free and custom built for my printer. Increasing the dimension settings slightly in Cura might be a solution, because I was able to get the neck inside the build volume after fiddling (no pun intended) with it for a long time after having reduced the size to 99%. I'll give it a try, even though it is risky. At 99% the neck is a 21 hour print with 10% infill, and .20 mm height. If you want fine height it would take even longer.

I've got a Solidoodle 3 and no matter how I arrange it the neck is just too long. If only I could squeeze another 20mm out of my build plate.

YMMV, but in some cases you could increase the dimensions of the machine slightly and get away with it. I know that at least the Ultimaker original settings in Cura are conservative and people have updated the Cura settings to print bigger items.

I believe I managed to fit the Neck on an Ultimaker 2 in Simplify3d. It took a 49 degree Z rotation, and it's very close, but it looks like it fits. If anyone can confirm or deny, post up! (Better yet, make one!)<br><br>Thanks for the feedback on the cable -- the current configuration works for me, but it's great to hear your opinion!<br><br>I would encourage anyone who's interested to grab the STLs or the solid body files (hosted on Thingiverse and GrabCAD and eventually here...) and modify in your CAD package of choice. You can also get in touch with me to join a Fusion 360 group and access the source files directly.

Unfortunately the neck can not be printed on an Ultimaker 2. It'll fit if I make the X-axis 99%, but then all the holes for the various parts will also change and the tuners, nuts, bolts and drill rod may no longer fit into their respective holes. Too bad, I really wanted to try this.<br><br>I also think that the bout part should have been designed in such a way so the plug for the cable to the amp will be inserted into the back of the instrument instead of the front. &nbsp;That way the cable won't be dangling in front of you when you perform, but can be slung over the shoulder.
