this is a modular rear engine that bolts in the rear of the vanquish optic.without the oil pan installed the motor will clear a low profile servo at full droop. if you are running Straight axle then you can install oil pan. feel free to make mounts for the engine and use it elsewhere. Option 2 engine mount is the one I suggest using for optics whether drag axle or 4ws.
These parts go together using different lengths of 2mm screws and 2.5mm for the intake manifold and headers into the engine block.( will post exact lengths soon).
If you are using rear steer do not install the oil pan, so it can clear rear servo.
to install into optic i install the mount first using the stock optic number plates/tags to fill the gaps. ( you can use spacers if you dont run tags. then with the buggy facing down and skid facing you use m3 screws to bolt engine to mount. you can reach screws through holes in rear of buggy cage.
dm me for any questions.
I included a picture of orientation of parts for printing . Stick with this method especially using a Bambu. I can guarantee they come out well that way and use 100% infill with pla matte/pla. Petg u might want to keep at 35% max.
I added a picture of the screw kit I purchased off amazon to bolt most of the engine parts together. I tapped m3 engine mounts so it's easier to bolt on. I used headlock screws for valve cover and oil pan . Use a heat gun for clean up. I used a soldering heatgun around 280 degrees to lightly and quickly heat up discolored areas to clean it up. Very quickly and gently without melting it.
I will be modifying engine mount soon and posting an alternative mount for free for those who purchased this file.
11/23- added 2nd and different type of engine mount. 2 pieces. they get installed first using numbers tags and then engine gets bolts last in 1 piece.
Screw sizes:
Headers and intake to engine take 2.5mm screws
Oil pan to engine uses headlock screws
Valve cover uses bead lock screws
Intake to pipe/ headers to exhaust uses 2mm screws. Lengths will be measured and updated shortly.
