@iv, you have to contact Ultimaker Support to buy a spare nozzle right now, but they have promised on the forum that they will have them in the shop soon.

"Did you use the vice to rest the flat surfaces of the nozzle assembly on?" Yes - exactly.

@EldRick, we actually tried doing it with a pillar drill before trying this setup, and unfortunately we had not the same great success as you had, the drill went off and made a quite ugly hole that were not straight and more or less ruined the first nozzle we tried with... and since they cost about 70€ we went with the full lathe setup next time to make sure that it would be a perfect result.

But yeah, you can absolutely get more lucky than us and get a really good nozzle that way, especially if using drills with 3,175mm shank so it self-centers to some extent, this is more of a guide how we did it and how to do it if you have the machines in a way that allows you to do 10pcs in a row and get them all perfect.

Did you use the vice to rest the flat surfaces of the nozzle assembly on?

It need not be that complicated, and you don't need a machine shop: http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/6557-help-with-drilling-out-nozzle/#entry60677
