I bought a bunch of pre-soldered WS2812 RGB LEDs. They come on a little carrier board that's 10mm in diameter. Each LED board has the 5v, Gnd and a Data In/ Data Out.
I've designed this little Christmas star to hold the LEDs and also provide a hanging loop at the top.
My LEDs are running from a Raspberry Pi zero, using a Python program that reads the Cheerlights feed.
