Description

This is a dice tower for all dice playing board games. The gate can be lifted up so the dices do not roll on the table. Designed in Solidworks 2013.Printed on a Ultimaker 2 and takes about 24 hours with 0.15mm layer height. No support is necessary and a few supporting structures is included in the model.

Printed this on my XYZ Printing daVinci Mini using black PLA. For the first attempt, I was printing it with supports, which were unnecessary. I stopped the print after about an hour, and restarted without the supports. My printer glitched a couple os times. The first glitch looks like it lost it's location, and everything started printing about 4mm further back, leaving a big lip on the front. I let it keep going. At about 3cm up, it glitched again, moving forward on the bed about 1mm. The item itself did NOT move relative to the bed. It was stuck so firmly I had to pry it off. About 2 cmm higher, and a series of glitches started, and the layers didn't line up, moving forward relative to the bed about a mm at a time, for 4 mm total. Disappointing, but I blame the printer, not the file for the build. I will work on the calibration and try again.

Hi! I love this design, but it's a little too big for my printer. I resized it and will try a test print tomorrow. I hope the dice still clear the curves and the doors. This could be a great gift item if it turns out for me. Thanks for sharing!
