As an extension of our 5th grades study of Mesopotamia, students designed and created their own unique Mesopotamian cylinder seals. The process for this project was to visit the Morgan Libraries Near East exhibition, observe/research the work on display, and sketch what they saw. Students then drew on paper their ideas for what they wanted their personalized cylinder seal to look like. Vector art was then created in Adobe Illustrator, saved as an SVG and imported into Tinkercad. The line art was used to ‘carve’ shapes into a cylinder shape in Tinkercad.
