I wanted some bubble-making tools for
entertaining toddlers, and I didn't want to run to the store, so I made
these. For bubbles, I used a one-to-one ratio of dish soap and water.
The wands worked great, particularly when I put them in front of a fan.
I printed both with and without raft (printing using ABS on
Afinia/UpPlus2 printer), and both worked fine for me.
I don't know if the ridges make a difference or not. The one with
larger ridges didn't seem to create any more bubbles per dip in the
soap, but I didn't do any scientific measurements.
I am a firmware engineer, but my education is in mechanical engineering. I particularly like to work on projects that involve electronics, firmware, and mechanical hardware. And cupcakes.
