And I found out that is actually blocks the printhead to go to the max y position. I think that is the reason OTO41 left the lower part free: https://www.youmagine.com/designs/bowden-clip

If it's too small, why not make the hole a little bigger in the design?

there is a catastrophic flaw with this design. if printing very close to the edge of the print bed, the clip can collide with the Ultimaker case. VERY IMPORTANT... do NOT print close to the buildplate edge if you are using this clip.

I get your point that the cilinder has the fit kind of tight to the knob, to also keep the clamp around the tube. I guess it is all a matter of finding the right diameter for the cilinder. So here's my proposal. If you are willing to share the original 3D file (not the STL file format) with me, I am willing to help you tweak. Of course I will share it back to you if I found a working size for the cilinder diameter. How about that?

I just drew and made a new one with a bigger hole but now it rotates to easily and won't hold the bowden cable anymore. It flips out of it´s position while printing. To be clear, the knob is about 6mm, i drew the first one 6.1mm. And now i tried a few steps larger until it needed no refinement. And than it won't hold. So that obviously is not what we want. Drawing a circle diameter A doesn't guarantee it gets printed in diameter A over a full Z-axis. At least not on my UM2. All suggestions are welcome.

OK, that's clear. Any reason why you didn't make the cilinder diameter fit in the first place? (that's the idea of 3D printing; ready to use)

Thanks. Like mentioned in the descripment you should get a 6mm drill to refine the hole. I'll try to update the files with a larger hole.

Very nice design jroen! I have printed the 2mm version. The clip itself fits perfect to the bowden tube. Unfortunately, the vertical cilinder is too narrow to slide it over the metal pin. Is there any trick to make it fit, or ... ?

Worked great for me (1.5mm)! No more dropping the std clip into some unforeseen crevice...

Updates with other heights, for me het 2.50mm one works best. Since this clip i didn't have any serious filament jams (yet). Hope this will save you some headaches aswell.

Smart :) does it prevent the tube from moving while retractions? Anyway this will prevent the standard clip from jumping away when you take it off or put it on. Once it fell in the head block i had to put the UM2 upside down to have it back

You need to print this as a set of heights varying by .1mm or so, as the OEM clip rarely matches the height needed to really stabilize the bowden-block.
