I must say this is the best printable mask i have tested. Only thing that i don't like are the strap handles because we need to support them. Any way to make them more simple (stronger and closer to the mask) so they would print without nead of support ?

Update 13.04.2020 Version 1.02: ----------------------------------------------- - I created planned support für BavarianMask L to save material and print time. Modell is uploaded as BavarianMask_L_Supported.stl. (BavarianMask M / S / 2F will get planed support soon) - Some little changes on EasyClip, rounding the fixation.

Nice work on the clip! Thanks for the source files. That makes it so much easier to make modifications when necessary. This is my favorite mask design. I'm using it to make a bunch of people feel safer.

Update 12.04.2020 Version 1.01: ----------------------------------------------- - Cover is now 1mm higher to achieve tight fit of filterbox when using thicker cosmetic pads. It always works with thinner pads to push in the pressing ring wide enough. - Added the new EasyClip File. It’s smaller than the StrapClip, looks a little bit nicer and doesn’t need Support. - Added the source files for all BavarianMasks. Filterbox and Clips are only included in BavarianMask L. (Modelled in Fusion360)

I should also mention that, as people start making their own masks, elastic tape is starting to become in short supply also. My solution for that has been to use raw TPU filament. It is strong enough and elastic enough to work just fine, and it still seems to be widely available. It also means that you need much smaller attachments on the mask.

That's excellent. Thank you for the reply. I have explored every conceivable type of seal for these masks. I have used closed cell foam tape, which is difficult to apply because of the twists and turns. I have try printing a gasket in TPU, which doesn't work because the plastic is too stiff to be comfortable. My current favorite technique is to slice a piece of soft silicone tubing and slide it over the edge. I think my ideal solution would be to cast a gasket out of liquid silicon rubber which cures in an hour. Unfortunately, I don't really have the design skills 2 create that mold. I saw something like it in the design of the Mala mask, but his 3D design is not printable. Best regards,

Hello Rick, thanks for your comment. I don't like this support too. I'm testing with alternative strap slots, right now. The reason for actual design is, to get the Strap away from the face. There are some clinical circumstances for that. Hope to publish a new design soon. Next step is to make the cover about 1 mm higher. At actual version, a thick cosmetic pad could cause a gap between filterbox and mask. My Ultimaker is now printing some samples of height testing and a now EasyClip. Source files will be uploaded soon.

Thanks for your work. This is a great design, unfortunately the strap slots are the weak point. Having to print these with supports really slows down the speed of printing (which is a key factor right now). It also causes that part of the mask to be unattractive. There is no reason why the strap holes could not simply sweep up at a < 45 degree angle. This would greatly improve the design. I would work on this myself, but the source files are not published.
