the extruder mounted on the x-axis is an dumm thing, heavy for the z moves ,and you have always move the printer or your self for load and unload the filament , i already has an mega 1.0 and made an top rack-mount on it, and enclosed it. it still works very fine .
I bought last year (black-friday-offer) an mega pro , it has the same bowden setup on the x-axis , i have made an update for this Mega Pro.
i did not see anything on the internet like this .( If somebody knows let me see it )
you can easy turn the extuder in the right direction and easy feed the filament in it .
no-more Hasseling the machine and feeling where your filament goes .
Here you see what you do .
2 versions are here in 1 design, 1 for without encloser ,and 1 for encloser body ( see my designs )= is still in developement ..)
Some basic scews are needed , the old screws you must use for the x-axis cable holder ( 6 ) , if you use it .
the bowden tube is still the same .
The motor cable and filament sensor , must be lengthen up for 50 and 60 cm, i had do this with the correct plugs and connectors ( you can solder the wires, but make it safe, or you blowup the printer).
Printing;
The models are on the right orientation for best printing .
The numbers 1 ,5,7,8 have an extra brim-support ,so the piece get non brim inside, remove it after printed.
number 4 has an support ring for bridging ,remove that too , or you cannot install the screw and spring.
I printed all the stuff in pla , my standardsettiings are : 20-20-333F40B4-4040 SP.
This means in slic3er setting:
first layer 020 height
normall layer 020
perimeters bottom-top-wall 3-3-3
inFill 40%
brim 4mm
width perimeter 040perimeter and infil 040mm
single print mostly , then the prints are smoother printed .
all with nozzle 040. speed about 40mm/s
Print time about 5 hours.
