Hi again,, which hall effect sensor did you use? I tried one i got from sparkfun but cannot get any good readings from it (tried two different as I thought I might have fried one of them.). My thinking is: is it really necsessary? Do you think I can trim the speed of the strobe light instead with a potentiometer instead?

Its a gear motor (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12148). Since its just spinning no need for stepper. I wrote about the electronics to determine the motor speed at my website: http://kellyegan.net/2014/09/19/3d-printed-zoetrope/

What motor did you use? A standard stepping motor?

Here you go. I also included the SCAD files incase you are designing for another motor.

This is absolutely beautiful! Do you have the stl files for the hub aswell if I should try to build one myself?
